The core of the Rangers U10's have trained together since they were just 5 years old, and indeed our current skipper Oliver Maguire first came to the club as a pre school boy, and has enjoyed his football, captaining the Rangers ever since.
Will Harris, Stephen Sims, Harry Higby, Jack Clarke and Keelan Archer have all trained with each other for a very long time, forging great friendship on the way; each has his strengths. More recently, we have been the beneficiary of the arrival of smallest yet quickest player in the league, Harrison Payne, and one of the most powerful in Ben Shutt. Harry Dancer joined only last season and added some steel to the team, with our most recent recruit being Liam Seager - a very talented left-winger with an eye for goal. To date this team has finished 3rd and 4th in the first two seasons leagues, made a cup semi in the first season and were losing finalist last season. This season we were extremely unfortunate to be knocked out of the cup in the second round by and excellent Warsash side, and have attained our best ever league position by finishing runners up in the Green League.
The Rangers have now been entered into the exclusive 'U10's Champions League' and are raring to go, 9 teams have entered the Champions League, taking the cream from each of the 5 divisions. There would be absolutely no disgrace in coming ninth in such illustrious company, the Rangers will however give it their best shot. The Rangers are a very talented crop of players, benefiting from the excellent help given by coaches and helpers Adrian Harris, Dave Maguire, Ian Higby and Lisa Maguire. The team is due to move to 11 a side next season, we are all convinced that the boys will do very well.
