This is the year before competitive league football.

Boys in this age group are in school year 1

At this early age the empashis is very focused on fun. We teach the boys basic football skills and encourage sharing in a team environment, with the introduction of simple disipline on the football pitch and respect for opponents and officials.

The emphasis with these year groups is fun and trying to teach the boys basic ball control and ball skills. They will not be playing competively until they reach the under 8 year group so we have a lot of time for the boys to bond and form a good team spirit. The current managers of this age group are Stephen Doyle and Mark Simpkin. We train every Saturday at Knightwood Leisure Centre in Valley Park. If you would like to bring your son along please make sure they are wearing shin pads, training shoes and bring a drink. Hope to see you soon.

All Saturday coaches are qualified to FA Level 1.

The number of parent volunteers in this age group greatly affects the number of boys that play competitive football in the Under 8's. All volunteers pass through our child protection scheme and full FA coaching trainging is provided by the club. If you would like to help please contact us.

In the summer the Under 7's enter a few tournaments so the boys can gain experience of competitive football and be ready as a team for their 1st year of Mini-Soccer starting in September.
